These days, we learn what we know from tiny  handheld supercomputers that show us pictures and tell us things. But — not all that long ago — our ancestors gathered information by listening to stories told to them as they gathered together around a fire.

 

So — at least  from an evolutionary standpoint — we're still wired to get our information and entertainment from storytellers. Truly effective communication still requires those same essential ingredients: the right audience, an appropriate time, and a story told well.
